I believe the Wiper motor is the same. I believe the switch assembly is different. I think, but not positive, that the harness is the same. Is your's a dash mounted switch? Mine is a 97 and it's on the turn signal switch.
1990 new to me F250 - Anyone here convert there standard two speed wipers to the optional delay wiper system?
Is the wiring the same and just a switch and wiper motor change work? Or is the harness different?
Anyone?
Thanks, David

My buddy did this. We both had '88 F-Series, but mine had the intermittent wipers. I got him an intermittent switch, out of the junkyard, and gave it to him. I believe all he had to do was change out the switch, which was mounted on the dash, not on a column-stalk.
You need both the switch and the wiper governor box that plugs between the intermittent switch and the harness.
The wiper motor is the same.
1/2 an hour tops.

I am interested in this!! What is the wiper governor box? Would I get this at the ford dealer? Sorry Im not up on this subject, is there any way you can elaborate on this?
Do you have any part numbers, diagrams, on how to do this? Maybe a step by step
Most of these relate to failure of the module, but the specifics are there.
I don't really want to wade through the threads and quote individual posts.
Hope you find all you need. If you still have a question post back to this thread.

This will work fine. I will try to read through these this weekend. Thanks for posting your results. This will save me a lot of time for sure. Thanks again!!!
You need a small hooked tool to remove the **** from the switch.
The dashboard fascia needs to be removed. On my '87 the left side just pops off with metal clips behind.
Remove the knee panel that covers the fuse panel beneath the column.
Unscrew the nut that holds the two speed switch to the metal subframe of the dash and remove from the rear.
Un-plug the switch from the harness and plug the "Governor Assembly" to the harness and the intermittent switch to that.
Install the new switch and be sure to ground the black wire with the forked lug to some metal screw under the dash.
I wrapped my governor in foam rubber and just ziptied it up out of the way. The governor bracket is a royal PITA to attach behind the fuse panel near the parking brake bracket.
