I have replaced the wiper switch and the wiper motor. The problem that I have is the motor will only run when the switch is on high, and it runs fast and slow, fast and slow. The motor won't run on low or intermitten.
The motors are the same, the only different components are the switch (has the rheostat)
and the time delay control box that goes inline in the wiring (between the motor & switch).
My truck had a hacked wiper switch, somebody had cut one of the wires and maybe made
some other changes because the motor was faulty and they didn't feel like replacing it.
Their mods allowed the motor to work in one speed only - despite the switch position - and
the automatic parking capability was removed, which meant you had to shut the switch off
at just the right time to have the wipers park in the down position.
Interval wipers are one of the easiest junkyard finds to add to your truck if you don't already
have 'em, all you need is the switch and that control box (stuffed up under the dash right by
the switch).
