I have a 99 F-250sd with the V10, im looking to pull the code manually. I know on my F-150 you turn the key on and off a few times and the Service engine soon light flashes the code. Is there a way to do this with the F-250?

That was the original OBD method. Doesn't work on OBDII.
Suppossedly there is a method of putting the message center into TEST mode, and reading a DTC code. I say suppossedly, because I haven't seen a report from anyone getting a useful DTC by using it. But I have put my '02 Escape in TEST mode, and it does show a bunch of info. Have not tried it yet on my truck.
There is a method, but it will only read instrument cluster DTCs. It will not read engine or transmission DTCs.
Yeah, that has been mentioned and makes sense. It is good to know how to do it anyway.
On the new 2011 with LCD screen, there is an excellent opportunity to put a lot of diag stuff on the screen, including DTc and even pending Dtc. But I'll bet Ford won't do it. They want to protect their service work. Too bad.
