That's right in my wheelhouse - I grew up off of 220 near Lord Botetourt High School and spent my younger years hunting all over Tinker Mtn (runs parallel to 220 to the West). New state record non-typical bow kill came off Tinker last fall- was killed closer up towards I-81, basically above where truck scales are located. I was also born in Covington and most family still over in the Highlands. Had to move to poor section of Botetourt now - down in Buchanan near James River - ton of Nat'l Forest right in my back yard and not jack ***** in it thanks to no timber cutting for past 20 years...

Yepper - Botetourt is my home county. It is a great place to live with the mountains and the James River to recreate in. Unfortunately, Roanoke keeps trying to eat us, although recession has put the brakes on development for now. Good luck hunting - private land I hope - slim pickin's in the Nat'l Forest.
