To bad there isn't an Oasis report for some dealerships and there less than proficient technicians. Guess you could contact Better Business Bureau but that isn't near as evasive as Oasis. Hopefully Technicians use the priviledge of entering information in Oasis prudently and not let there personal feeling get in the way of honest evaluation. God forgives us when we make mistakes so we should be forgiving of our fellow man when he invariably makes mistakes.
Unfortunately, this makes it hard to have any kind of honest relationship. My service advisor looks at my DashDAQ, coolant filter, ccv re-route (to a frame filter and returned to the original intake), power steering filter, and my fuel pressure gauge (Quadzilla electronic gauge ONLY) ...... and he constantly hints that I have a tuner - which I do not and never have had.
More people get hurt w/ the lying than just the ones involved. For me, I can only hope the Tech will think differently than the SA if I ever need any warranty work. I am somewhat skeptical though, since my son took his 7.3L in for brake work (I was too busy to do it with him) and he was told he needed quite a bit more work than he really did. I thought the relationship was good, but now I have my doubts.
The key thing is trust and trust depends on honesty. There is so much deception (and yes it happens on both sides) that it is difficult to get reasonable service. Never-the-less, I will be open and honest about the mods I have done .... if I need the warranty work. It has to start somewhere.
This is why I try to give rep points and voice my appreciation to the active Techs on these forums. They freely give their time and help us troubleshoot and fix our complicated beasts. This is a HUGE help to our pocketbook and it is a demontration of a charitable character on their part ..... it is much appreciated. When a Tech expresses strong feelings on a matter, it is worth taking note of.
