Hey guys i have a 2007 ford f350 with a 6.0 in it and there is a blue hose that comes off the top of the engine and goes in to the turbo(dont make fun of me im not a diesel genious so i dont know what evertyhing is called) but there is oil commin out of the side that is connected to the engine. Is it a big deal or is it nothin to worry about. Please help any advice welcome.
This is common from what I understand. It's a result of crankcase ventalation (you know, PVC valves). I know of a product out there that will stop this. If your interested check it out at Stealth Automotive (stealth-automotive.com). Maybe somebody else will chime in on this, but I'm pretty sure this is the case.
I have this same problem on my boot except I think mine is a much larger crack or hole, going to pull the whole pipe off tomorrow and check the pip and boots for defects, theres a nasty whistle coming from it, but if the blue boots are torn how much are they to buy
Well, after reading this thread I decided to go out and check my boot coming off the turbo since it had oil on it. Yep, sure enough, boot has about a 2 and a half inch crack/split. I have about 60,000 miles on the truck, so I guess it's under warranty. However, i've had to pay a $100.00 deductable every time I have a repair. Wonder if I can just get the parts for free and do the repair myself
