Your lucky you get to use the stuff from work. I used to have a job where I could do that and it was great.
My uncle built a home made headache rack for his GMC and it looks great. He installed reverse lights on it and it adds a nice touch.

Aaron you can finish welding it up with my equipment if ya take a peek at my AC while you're at the shop.

And we'll make a second try at this whole shutting off the lights and locking the doors thing.

I swung by the CAT Scales in Milford this morning.

I topped off my fuel tank first and had my usual assortment in the front & back.
Steer Axle 4480 lb.
Rear Axle 4460 lb.
Gross Wt. 8940 lb.
As a reminder:
Dana capacity ratings includes the weight of the mounted tires.
The original tires were LT245/75R16E rated for 3,042 lbs. load.
The front Dana 60 axle is rated for 4,500 lb.
The van's door jamb stickers say GAWR Front 4,200 lbs. with the original tires @ 55 psi.

The rear Dana 70U axle is rated for 7,500 lb.
The van's door jamb stickers say GAWR Rear 6,084 lbs. with the original tires @ 80 psi.
I still have get to:
  • The spare tire carrier.
  • Fender flares and mud flaps.
  • Move the front bumper forward more.
  • Fabricate battery boxes for the two bigger starting batteries, plus adding the two deep cycle batteries.

In the far future are:
  • Bigger brake rotors & calipers.
  • Air bag suspension (might break even on weight )
  • The 100 lbs. propane (20 gal.) tank.
  • The overdrive unit.
  • The 'auxiliary' fuel tank (50 gallons I'm guessing).
