What track is it? I have not had a chance to ask Jim yet. I'm probably gonna hit up a motel near it for the night as well before heading back to Jim's Saturday morning.

Question How can an existing axle weight rating be increased?

How can an existing axle weight rating be increased?

No, I don't want to swap out the axle assembly.

I presume steel is welded down the length of the axle tube to stiffen it.
  • Pictures?
  • Web links?

I recall seeing differential covers that had threaded bosses to take some sort of tie-rod.
But I don't think that arrangement increases GVWR.
And too, I don't have room for such bars due to the rear torsion bar and the front steering linkages.

All competitors must have a SNELL approved helmet. Must be m2000, m2005, or m2010 nothing else. (those are SNELL approval things)

Any helmet that doesn't pass tech will be confiscated until the end of the event.

Pete, you have any interest in staying with me or you looking to crash at Jim's? Just makes a difference whether I get 1 big bed or 2 small. Price is typically the same.

I'll probably crash at Jim's. That couch is pretty darn comfortable. Plus I don't have to get up as early to make it to the shop on time.

Can I assume you're driving yourself down, Greg?

Your the one commenting on needing "private time". I don't want to cramp your style or anything. Plus I don't want to leave at midnight on Saturday again.
