i usually use the gloves for stuff thats just dirty and simple. never for bearins or oil or gas jobs. stuff like changin an alternator or simple stuff like that.
Is there someone that introduces new users to the site, and explains how to navigate the site, and other such things??
If not, i am gunna take charge in that department as it gets old explaining to newbies that there are year based forums and where they are located and such.
Sorry for the rant there, i know i was in teh same boat back when i joined.
i dont know if there is or not. im inclined to think not. message a mod and have em add a tutorial PM that pops up on for new users and stays there till they delete it, so they can just refer to it for how to get around. or somethin long those lines.
sounds like a plan.
What i was going to make a file on word, then when someone joins then id pm it to them. Cant be all that hard. I actually got the idea from a computer forums where their HR officer sends a premade email to the new entrants.
I guess i can discuss it with the mods and figure it out.
i think you should, cause you cant PM until you have 25 posts, but the mods could make it part of the website for them to receive that one when they join.
Noobs can't send/recieve PM's till they reach a certain number of posts. They may be able to recieve PM's from mods, though. Might even be able to send one to a mod. Been WAY too long since I was a noob here........
well it dont have to be a pm. As long as they get the info.
The point is to get them familuar with the site before they embarras themselves by posting in the wrong forum. Also it would be helpful to compile a dictionary of the commonly used short words. like PO, and IMO, and such.
