Hell it's legal without the door. They tried to make me put doors on my blazer but couldn't do it. There is no law saying you have to have doors on a rig.
I used to have 2 74 blazers and I never had doors or a top on either one and drove them everywhere. once in awhile I would get stopped and they would try everything even mirrors, but as long as you have one mirror you are legal.
yeah.i think she'd fail for that one John.
ever think about welding/or at least bolting a steel angle iron across the floorboards so you dont end up like freddy flintstone? lol.
be careful there man.hopefully the seat would rest on the tranny/driveshaft to hold ya up once she finally lets loose lol.could see some pretty sparks and smoke/flames etc.but hopefully you would have time to stop, drop and roll before she all goes up in flames haha.
Even with safety inspections no doors are legal. They will always tell you it isn't, all you have to do is tell them to write the ticket and have it towed, when they get off the radio you get a have a nice day sir.
I've redone the floors on the passenger side last summer, still solid, used Home Depot sheet metal and pop rivits.
Drivers side done the same way, but 5 years ago, and now, no floors again infront of seat. Only thing keeping me from going through the floor is the dang carpet LOL
Next time I'll use ply-wood like I did in my 74 Mercury Meteor!

You need to take a road trip. For around a grand you can get a rustfree as in has never had any rust and all the bolts in good shape to bolt it on. I finished stripping a 77 model today and even the spring bolts zipped right out and pulled out with my fingers.
The only bolt that gave me any trouble was the drivers side front bed bolt, it has a phillips head so you remove it rfem the top, and I stripped it.

Its no wonder you keep doing it. You need to set up a hidden camera next time and put it on utube. I bet the look on his face was priceless when he had to let you go.
Sorry, but when it comes to safety inspectors I have lost all patience. Work safe inspectors, road vehicle inspectors are all on a power trip it seems. We have house inspectors to deal with in town and so far, we all get along just fine. Last guy was full of it and didn't last too long
Lately they are pulling over truckers on the highway near my town for random inspections. I guess anyone working for an honest living needs to be harassed in order to keep the public safe.
