I need to come up with a way to remount the radiator support and new mounts (from LMC) hardware and all would be around 100 bucks! I'm thinking simple and cheap, some round stock and a new bolt?? any drawback to not having rubber in there?
You can buy the body mount bushings from summit for like $45. If you need hardware, just use some flat washers and some big bolts. I think 3/4 or 7/8 is the size that works.
Bullitt's right, hockey pucks work good and you can buy them cheap on the internet.
You need rubber to allow the radiator support to adjust to the frame movement when cornering or off road. Truck frames and bodies move around a lot while driving, also the rubber helps to control road noise.
You can get hockey pucks at a sporting goods store for around $1 each. Even in Florida I can gaurantee there is a hockey rink somewhere.
Just drill a hole in the center and install some grade 8 bolts. I used 1 or 2 OEM shims per side (can't remember which at the moment) with the hockey pucks with a ny-lock nut and fender washer on the bottom side.
I like the comment suggesting junkyards! Ha, good luck getting any of those 30+ year old bushings to come out decently.
