Hey guys just a stupid question here... Do 80-96 fords not have transfer case mounts? I come from the 73-79 world ware tranny has a mount , and the transfer cases have a mount. My 89 f250 has the zf5 mounted with a tranny mount, then the transfer case just hangs off the tranny with no additional mount for it. Why did ford do this? Also when I shift I always see the shifter move side to side allot. New motor mounts and new tranny mount
Correct there is no t-case mount cause it's not needed. Don't worry about the shifter moving, if it didn't your teeth would rattle in sync with engine rpms, somewhat pliable engine/trans mounts aren't necessarally a bad thing. However if you are getting enough movement to create metal on metal contact somewhere then yeah you need new mounts and you may as well do them all.
they had this mount stock. I'm surprised you haven't broke a housing on a C6 yet. Those cases are 175 lbs or thereabouts. I have 4 np205 cases and all came with this mount.
they may have come with them, i did not buy them new. the 300 4 speed i bought in 81 with 15k on it, the other two were picked up in 85 and 87 with around 60k on them.
the 6 cylinder truck had a dump body on it, both V8 trucks were modified when i got them, one for beach running and one for woods running.
i use them as snow plow rigs.

WOW !
I've probably driven/cut up 150 77.5-79 Fseries 4x4s and every one had a Tcase mount with the mated 205 or 203. amazing you had 3 of them w/o , obviously those trucks had the Tcases removed already, only reason to leave it out is lazy mechanic.
4spd manual could handle the weight of the Tcase pulling on it all the time but a C6 would definitely be stressed.
actually it might be closer to 250 of these trucks I've had apart. we used to tear into 2or 3 every weekend for years.
