I don't really think the new diesels are bad about holding up. probably the most common item to fail is the electronics (glow plugs) we just do not have as many items to fail and if we do they do not cause motor damage like say an egr leaking coolant. I think the iron itself holds up just as good but the epa stuff is a different story.
well if you need to tach the v10 so high to get her to pull a load then its going to consume a lot of fuel to do it.so in the long run,it would just be less expensive to save up for the diesel
You don't have to rev it, it just pulls harder that way.
I once pulled a 10K back hoe in the hills and was not in any real hurry.
I stayed under 3K rpm the whole trip and got 9.85 MPG.
Well I decided to pass on the V10. Sure is a nice truck just couldn't make myself go with a gas burner. I ended up buying a truck that I have been argueing with the owner over for nearly a year now. Gonna be next weekend before I get it tho as he's out on a road trip with it. BTW, it's a power stroke. I can't help it. I like em both. Hello, my name is galute and I'm a dieselholic. LOL
