my windshield trim has been popped up a little on the drivers side at the top for well long before i came into possesion of it.... it makes it look like the southern side of a north bound cow
how is it put on there so i know how to reatach it? its only about a 12" section and its not in any corners ive tried pushing it down cussing it and some other stuff... so my next thaught was to see if anyone knows how its on there or how to fix it without taking it all off...
it's held in by windshield trim clips-they may have been broken or damaged from some one trying to remove them the wrong way-do a search on here you should see the proper tool for removing the trim -and said clips
I know I have seen other threads about this before-good luck
Yup, what JR said^^ If the clips are damaged/broken, I know you can get new ones from LMC auto for new, or I suppose you could go to a junkyard and maybe you can do some pickin' too.
I know when i had my windshield replaced the windshield shop had a special tool that they used for popping it out. Then to put it back in its just a quick hit with the bottom of your palm. They told me if I ever need to pull the trim to clean it up or what not, to swing by and see them and they would either do it no charge or let me borrow the tool. The perks of living in a small town.
here is an image of the tool needed to remove the trim
mine looks a bit different but this one is all I could find on the web
don't try to use other things like carpenter pry bars and such
the tool goes under the trim and when ya feel the clip ya just lightly rock it ~and it pops off the clip--clean it all up and pop it back-you can use your hands -or sometimes a small rubber hammer-just make sure all the clips are clean and not bent
