94 e40d in a 97

will a 94 f-250 e4od transmission behind a 460 work in a 97 f-250 with a 460 i heard that 97's are only capable off useing a transmission from another 97 cause of some e brake sensor or something is this true thanks

The transmissions should be the same as long as both are from the same kind of vehicle, i.e. 4wd or 4x2. The '97 will have some internal differences because of factory updates but the '94 will work as well. The only external difference may be the MLPS/connector. Ford switched to an updated version around '95. You can swap those from one to the other.
