I've got pretty significant leakage when it rains or I hose off my truck, all along the top of the windshield. What's the best way to remove the chrome trim without damaging it, so I can reseal my windshield?
I'd practice on my donor truck, but there's a reason it's a parts truck, and that reason is that I... uh... modified the cab a bit... with a hay field.
Just don't rush into it too fast. I severely damaged my trim. Popped off fine the first time, but the second time I busted it up bad.
(I had some leaking issues on my cab.)
And now I have no trim and a **** load of windshield sealant. :P I figure i'll take the trim from the parts truck and have the shop replace my windshield when I have some spare cash.
here is the correct tool KD Tools. It must be kept flush to the window,if not you will crack the glass.
Yes, this is what you need... It is the ONLY way to safely remove the trim with out bending the trim, scratching the glass, or bending the clips so bad they can never be reused....
