I have a '73F-350 4spd Std 360 V-8 the engine I installed is from a '77 Merc. 460 V-8 4bbl. I got the conversion kit from Advance Adpaters, also changed the engine perches on the chassis for '79 model.I got a bellhousing that matches the 460.
Everything Bolts OK,--BUT the fork can't move,the
pressure plate is up pushing the fork towards the tranny.Whats wrong pressure plate,flywheel,fork..?
I am not really an expert at this but here is my 2 cents. If you used the pressure plate/clutch from the 360FE I think that may be the problem . I dont believe they are interchangeable between FE's and the 460's.
If I am wrong I am sure I will be corrected Good luck and hope you get a better answer

The tranny is the original '73 4spd.
If it's the Clucth Kit do you know which one
will fit?
FE stands for Ford Edisel. It is a family of Ford big block engines. A few of then are 352, 360, 390, 428. Since you said you previously had a 360 V8 you must have had an FE engine.
Most FE parts only will interchange with other FE engines. Hence when you swapped to a 460, different class/family of engine, the old tranny bell housing wouldnt bolt up. I am unsure about the clutch, pressure plate and flywheel but I would guess that they are different.
Once again just my thoughts. I am sure about the differences between the FE's and the 460 engines. just not 100% sure about the differences between the clutches etc.
Hope this helps some
