I might have to use my ace up the sleeve and risk blowin her sky high.... but it may be worth it hahaha. I'm still undecided if it will come with me but it is a serious thought as of right now, gonna pull it in this weekend and start tearin into it and gutting some parts to clean up some room. I'm excited about this new project so we'll see how it goes.
well get on the project and bring it with you. run what ya brung and ya better hope like hell ya brung enough!!! each day that goes by my F-150 is getting a little closer to fire up and once that happens it's time...

Well if I don't think that I've brung enough then I will be taking some mulah with me and stopping in to see David and have him work some magic haha. But there is always next year my friend, might just need to make this a yearly competition lol. I was lookin on River City Diesel and they have 350cc injectors for like 2500 or something like that so I'm hoping that Jim is around 1900-2100 and then I would deffinetly be purchasing bigger than 250's. Hel* if worse comes to worse I'll just spray everything known to man into that SOB and go for gold lol, nitrous, meth, and propane! muhahaha blow that thing sky high and tow her home haha. I just haven't decided if I want to pull the motor and go through the bottom end for this season of do that over the winter and have it for next season, not 100% on what I want to do this year and what I want to do this off season quite yet. But I go to get it on friday so I'll start gutting her when she gets home, pulling the interior out and all the useless crap in the engine compartment and then let the burnouts begin haha. Hopefully it'll do one, I don't remember what its like to drive a stock truck anymore lol.

yeah i wouldn't use River City Diesel after some stupid a$$ comments they made on PSN awhile back to one of their customers. they were complete ********* to one of their customers who had just bough valve springs from them on the open forums. not the way to run a business IMO.

IMO you should be ok chancing it this season. your kinda late on starting the build up so you won't catch most of the season anyways. LoL. next season build it up. i think you'd do good going with some 300/400's, S475 turbo, stud it, new stock head gaskets, fuel system, DI pushrods, comp 910 springs or hi rev springs(whichever your heart desires, but hi revs need machine work on the heads), get it tune GOOD by a company we KNOW has a truck or 2 out there running like that on a stock bottom end and let it rip. swamps, gearhead, PHP, and even truck source diesel have good tunes for this, but i'm going to talk to Tony about it HEAVILY this weekend when he live tunes my truck i think i'm going to throw my heads on my engine w/ my studs(after i do hi revs) and chuck a big azz turbo on there w/ my newly planned out injectors and call it good til i can afford to go through the bottom end and do a girdle, new bearings, mahle's, cam, crowers, etc. takes too much money to do all dat. haha. if i blow mine up i blow it up, but by the time i go forward with it any more i will have almost a brand new truck under me i will be driving.

i looked at my list today and figured out my F-150 will be almost NEW when i start driving it. new trans, new clutch, new brakes, new engine, new wiring harness, mostly new sensors, new TPS, new wheel bearings, new radiator, new A/C compressor, power steering pump, alternator, tie rod ends, ball joints, wheels, tires, all that crap will be new when i start driving it. most of it is all already here. haha

Haha, ya I would never get injectors from anyone but Jim because of how great he was to me on my last set and everything that he does for the people on here. He has some of the best customer service that you could ever ask for and his product hasn't let me down yet, and I drive that truck hard EVERY day, so in my mind there is nothing more to ask for. Then I plan on running a gen 3 style pump because I can do it for very cheap, DI push rods, comp 910's, and then I'm just not 100% on the turbo. I get co fuss when it gets into flanges and uppies and all that stuff, but I want DI bellowed uppies and header because he too seems to be a great person to work with.

FO SHO!!!! man, i changed my oil today and changed/cleaned my CPR filters. holy crap did that make a difference on throttle response!!! i only ran the oil for 3500 miles though??? i normally change the oil at 3000 miles, but i didn't feel like it last week. egh.. this is the first time i have cleaned the 100 micron stainless aeromotive filter and it had a nice little black tint to it. not too bad, but much better now. haha. think this thing might put down a little better dyno numbers Saturday!!! AFTER Tony live tunes it Saturday morning that is. and as long as the turbo stays alive i may play on the drag strip a little bit.. considering taking some burnout tires too. haha

haha, see that is weird because I do long IOC's with changing the filter half way (typically) and my oil is just now tinting. I am gonna chang mine this weekend and I have 9k on it with a mobil 1 extra length filter and I didn't change this one. I check my oil probably every 500 miles and it just started tinting about 500 miles ago. IDK if it is this filter or what but it is the ongest it has gone without changing color. I usually go about 7500 miles with a filter change somewhere around 3500 but this one has been almost TO clean. I'm going to send a sample into blackstone and see how she's doing. And I know most people say to change the oil often but my dad has always had great luck with his trucks and he waits longer than I do, his idi has 310k on the orignal motor and still runs, his SD has 150k and still runs fine, and his 06 SD has 126k and hasn't had a single problem yet and he will sometimes wait 10-15k before changing the oil. He just changes the filters about every 5k miles, but we always run synthetic oil after the motors are broken in.

all depends on your filter system richard.
I don't really suggest going over 5k without a bypass filter though.

Ya I was reading in that other thread last night where you and another member where going into depth about it and it all makes sense to me, I'm probably gonna add a bypass filter setup to my truck in the near future. But like I said before it just recently started to tint and I am just starting to notice some little bubbles at the end of the stick, so I would say that it is now breaking down and is in need of an oil change. I typically change it around 7500 but I have had such good luck with this change that I figured I would see how far it would go until it started turning dark.

areation is bad.
bypass filters help reduce the breakdown of the oil by getting the soot out, which is what kills most of our oil.

You simply just do not have a very sooty truck. thats usually what discolors the oil.

ya no it has been good on the same filter for about 8-8.5k miles before it started to discolor which has really surprised the heck out of me to say the least, so I would say that my truck is not a dirty truck haha. And I just recently started to see the airation so it is deffinetly ready to be changed but it has lasted longer than I thought it would. I will deffinetly be getting another one of these mobil one filters.

how about this for yo azz.. Everytime i change my oil i start it up and let it idle for about 5 minutes while i check for leaks and then shut it down and check the oil again. well mine is always BLACK after starting it only once after an oil change. LOL. so this time i said to hell with it and i flushed the oil to try to get as much of the old oil out as possible just to see if it still turned black. left the drain plug out, got the biggest funnel i have that fits the oil fill hole and poured a gallon of oil in there as fast as i could get it in there and watched the oil coming out. the oil coming out was still black then eventually started getting more and more golden as it drained so i poured a little more til i was getting nice golden oil. drained the HPOP rez and refilled, but did not drain the oil rails b/c there is no point in doing that. filled with oil, changed filter, and started it checking for leaks. shut it down and checked it.... still black. hahahahahaha. we will see how it is with these new tunes b/c before it would smoke like a pig just from starting the truck, now it doesn't even puff when i start the truck and never smokes unless i put the pedal to the floor so hopefully next time it won't be black just from starting the truck.
