Post 332 and its on page two tonight when I tuned in?? Bump and I have to say Travis, you talked me into green slime???? I put Shaeffer 7000 in today and I took two double takes. One was at the jug to see if I was really putting in diesel oil and the other at the color of the oil. I really don't think I noticed any difference so far, time will tell.

I decided after comparing AMS to shaefers and talking to the reps, comparing prices, what is what for who and how.
I'm going to Schaefers.
comes out to 18 a gallon for the 9000 i think was what it was.

Travis, I was using just the regular stuff in the trans because I was on a road trip to Oregon to see my daughter when the trans blew up. I finally got around to putting some 'good stuff' in it. The motor I've been using Rotella syn for years and the lab reports always show shearing. I guess that's what its called when the oil isn't the same weight of oil you orginally put in. That's what convinced me to switch. Talyn, that about what I paid for the engine oil, the trans stuff was $10 a quart, ouch!!

Sheering is an effect of the oil when applied between 2 surfaces.
Its' not really due to the weight, but the breakdown of the oil.
Instead of providing a barrier, it sheers off.
That's my understanding of it.
I think i'ma drain and dump in shaefers in my trans too. It could probably use an oil change. specially since it will be getting all my horse power after this clutch.

I would love to rave about how awesome this stuff is, but I cant. I haven't received my free sample yet. Still waiting by the mailbox and everyday I get a huge let-down. LOL

Sam, i don't know what we are going to have to do with you. you have been missing a lot of time lately and we can't afford to have much more of that happen sir. this is your warning. ROFLMAO!!!! good to have you back again, when you comin' down to Tx?? are you going to bring your IC so we can mount it up or do you even plan to stay that long? haha. if your here on a Friday due to my calculations we should be able to get the IC in by late Saturday which will leave the pipes to be built.
