My girlfriend will get dirty and has helped me on the truck a few times but it doesn't last long. As soon as she is done with what I need her for she's washing up! I guess looking at my own hands I understand why she's a little worried about the dirt becoming permanent, sometimes it takes 3 days to get all the paint, grease, dirt, soot... off. She likes working on her Jeep and spent a full day with me doing the add on's she wanted right after she got it and already has plans for a small lift with tires and gears to match. This is her a couple months ago (kinda with the truck) with our other favorite pastime.

Well...i have a terrific wife...i WAS one of those guys that has some wrenching ability, but a tad bit lazy...when my HPOP started dropping a gallon every 100 miles...i took Bit Mo' to the International folks, who gave me a quote...when i told my wife...she suggested that i go online and search for a cheaper alternative, and that's how i found my FTE family...so...THIS IS HER FAULT...lol...so, she can't argue if i want to do a mod "because everybody on FTE has done it"...and that's how i get away with it...as far as helping...yeah, right...but, i did the nicest thing the other day...i bought my wife a new to us car...a 1994 VW Passat VR6...that dang thing will scoot...the wife was soooo happy to get her own money pit, that she didn't care that i needed to spend more dough on Bit Mo...now, what she didn't know was, i was being selfish...it's a VR6, and it will fly...and i needed a part getter...and this was cheap enough that i could afford it...i named the Vdub....Peppy, the part hauler....lol...she just knows it as Peppy...lol

No sense in beating around the bush And I'm sure you will Timmy.
I find it all too coincidental the conversations we have sometimes on here. . . given the events that I have had tonight. . . Nothing short of phenomenal!

Nice choice!!! I have a 1996 Passat, but (I have to ONEUP ya here) mine's a diesel! I just replaced some boost-line tubing & wastegate controller valve and went from 44mpg to almost 50mpg!!! Yeah, and that's at 75mph! You'll be me in a drag race, but not past a pump. The trunk size of those little cars is AMAZING!! When you need parts get in touch; I know a couple of very good sources.

Oh, and here's a pic (from L to R) of Arlene, Tracie, and me.

I would love a TDI passat/Jetta for a parts/ work runner. Just everyone I find had 100K + miles and they still want $10K for them or the lower mile cars are priced way out of my range. How many miles are those things good for, and what price should I expect?

ni pics right now but my girlfriend is great!!!!!! She helped m paint my IC pipes, put my exhaust on, install gauges, install train horns, and helped my put the leveling kit on my truck. She also offers to change my oil while im working and still finds time to cook most of the time. She is really a big help when there are tight spaces that I cant get my big hands into. Im not saying that I couldn't have done these mods by myself but she has been a huge help along the way

Yeah, if it wasn't for Lisa, I would almost say they don't exist!

As for Carly, she just rolls her eyes at most of my PMS stuff, but loves the fact that we can pull the RV around. I too never ask for permission. She knew what I was about when she met me, don't even bother trying to change it. She likes that we don't spend so much on mechanic bills too.
All in all, I landed me an amazing gal!

It's funny reading this thread. There's the LUCKY group, guys who say, "I have a good one" and the "other" group. I'm in this one, with a rock, I'm afraid
