What does your other half think?
We are about ready to get rid of her car and she is still thinking if she wants a truck or not. After seeing Chris's pictures of his wife's truck with all the pink she wants that now!
Don't have any pics of us with the truck but here is us together:
Thanks, I find her pretty easy on the eyes. What is RRE? She looked for almost two years at different designs for that tattoo before finding one she could modify to her liking. She said it hurt worse than all the rest of them put together! Those ribs are kinda touchy... If RRE is some sort of diesel get together I'd love to make it, there's not many of them very close to us. (personally nothing ups a woman's 'hot factor' like a little ink!)

My gf for the last 5 months loves my truck in general, especialy the turbo whistle. She doesn't say a word if I spend money on it. (Which lately I haven't had the extra to do so). Knows I work my butt off and doesn't say a word if I'm working in the shop at night when she comes over. I make sure I make time for her. Like one night this fall I washed her Trail blazer for her, then she helped me buff some of the scratches, clay bar it and wax it. But so far that is as "dirty" as she has gotten. But she would help me if I asked.
I don't have pics on this computer, but I'll post one. Yeah I think she is a keeper.

Sounds awesome!! I will certainly plan for it but 7.5 hours is a pretty good ride. Tenn. in July sounds like a pretty good place to be though.
As far as mods go, I just stopped telling her about them. It was just easier that way lol.Now the new woman (of only a week, so keeping my fingers crossed) actually likes trucks and has already started asking me questions about mine. When it gets warmer I'll have to see if she will bust some knuckles and get get a little greasy.
Shade, I would like to shake your hand. Hold on to that one. I completely agree with you, ink significantly increases a girls hot factor. She is right, the ribs hurt somethin' fierce. They were terrible but its not stopping me from getting inked again. It's way too addicting. Problem now is, which addiction is stronger, truck or tats?

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Trucks are definitely the more expensive of the two though.
Case in point: The last chick I was with understood me and my truck initially, but later made some derogatory comments about my truck and needless to say, isn't with me anymore.
We were talking about cars we liked and I just finished telling her about how happy I was with mine and she could get whatever she wanted IF (again I say, IF) we ever got married.
Her: Well if we ever get married, maybe your truck might not be there afterawhile...
Me: What do you mean? (in the back of my mind I wanted to say: " well maybe you might not be there", but decided to hear her out)
Her: Well I was thinking that maybe we could get rid of your truck and get something else, you know, something better...(with a smile on her face, although it was obvious she wasn't joking)
Me: (Furious and with my blood boiling) Are you out of your (effin') mind?

Her: (Surprised look on her face, after I just finished telling her how happy I was with my truck)
I went on to explain that even if by some strange quirk of fate, diesel was no longer manufactured, I could MAKE my own fuel if it came down to it and my truck would still run no matter what. Her best friend was sitting in the back seat and is the only reason why she wasn't given a swift kick out of my truck to stand in the cold rain and walk home.
I later found her to be someone who was a control freak, kept trying to change who I was, and someone who bitched till the cows came home...and then bitched because they came back!
Not with her anymore and I'm much happier....truck seems to drive better too!

Which brings me to my point: My truck is an integral part of my life and an extension of myself; my other half will understand the following up front:
"The truck was here before you and it'll be here long after you're gone".
Some of you boys are lucky enough to have found a girl who not only understands you and your truck, but loves working on your truck with you. Whether it's handing you tools or bringing you a drink right when you need it most...she's right there with you. Congratulations!

I'm still looking, wish me luck...
For years my mom continually gave me crap about lifting my truck: "Your truck was fine the way it was", "What do you need a truck that high for" etc...
It all stopped after Hurricane Ike September 2008 when my truck and two others were the only ones able to get in and out of the neighborhood through the deep floodwaters. My truck was also able to get my mom and some of her friends in and out of the hospital she worked at, as the parking lot was well flooded.
Be Patient Young Padawan, Come, your day will....

I hope you can make it. This year will be my first too. I might end up flying to get there but, I'll be there.
