So i have noticed over time alot of us tend to complain about how our significant other complains or sometimes restricts our time with our trucks. Not to mention how much we spend.
So i decided to start a thread for us/me to brag about the few that like what and why we do.
For example my girlfriend helped me change out my cps tonight. And she got dirty while doing it. On top of that she is now very interested in buying a diesel truck for herself... We are looking at an '84 f350 with the 6.9 in it. 4x4 of course.
So have at it I wanna hear about your wives and girlfriends that help you out. And maybe even a pic. or two for proof of course...
All my previous GFs know that I've been racing before they met me, and I'll still be racing after they leave.
I am a firm believer that I'm not going to change my hobby or business, so if a girl has a problem with that she knows my stance and where the door is. Life is too short not to spend it with someone who doesn't enjoy the same things you do.
You can tell the people who have found a significant other who they really get along with, because you never hear us complain about anything, lol.
Cheryl is a good mechanic in her own right. grew up working at her fathers shop building VW's. alot of times I'll get an idea and run it buy her for conformation. She's not as in to details on the diesels but knows enough of the basics to ask intelligent questions. does make it hard to bulls**t my way to a new mod, but she appreciates the improvements we've made. Don't know why she picked me, but I'm glad she did!
My wife isn't one to get under the hood with me but she fully understands the value and passion I have for wrenching on things. I try to be practical and I know she appreciates the time and energy I spend on fixing and/or PM's on stuff. She sees how much I save us by being a gear head also. She does like to ride ATV's and dirtbikes with me though and if I ever get my Mustang running again, she'll get behind the wheel for sure. One of these days, I'll surprise her with a classic VW bug convertible.
I dont have a girlfriend, dont normally have one. Other then lately this one girl has been visiting. Last weekend she came over, and I warned her. I would be spending the weekend elbow deep in installing a QSSB and hypermax kit on our early 99 truck. I told her it would be boring, unless she was interested in helping, she said she didnt want to get dirty, so she played video games all day saturday, and sunday till lunch time while I was playing under the hood. I did take her out saturday night to watch the eagles bomb their shot vs the cowboys again. But the rest of the weekend I was happy to be wrenching. Well see if she comes around again haha
My wife has put up with me and my many cars, hot rods and trucks. Never complains about the time or the money I spend on them. She loves the F350 because it has lots of room for her to get comfortable, and it pulls the RV any where she wants it to go.
My wife did her own maintence on her vehicles with the help of her Dad before we got together many moons ago but she also appreciates the care I invest in both our vehicles. She doesn't like driving my truck but will if she has to. She's is the best co-pilot I ever had though..
