They are! I have a solo one hooked up for now and it runs off my OBA. I had some woman cut me off in a mini van a couple of weeks ago. Had to slam on the brakes. I pulled the cord, and it scared the crap outta her! We both had to change our drawers. I can not wait to see all three on there!
I just got back from the junkyard. Good trip, picked up a pair of air horns to add to the single one on my GMC, a hot water shut off valve (project for the Ford) and an electric fam out of a Crown Vic - gonna try it on the Ford and probably do a write up if there is anyone interested.
It blew a 4"x 2" chunk off of it, I had to glue it back on so it would work.
I have 2 vids, the first one we did it with the lid open and the water got all over us, the walls, ect.
The second time we closed the lid and all the force went down, breaking it.
Please do the right up on the fan, that is somthing I am interested in and it has been talked about alot in the Super Duty forum.

Write it up, if not for us, then someone who may want to do something similar in the future!
I used a GM fan control switch from a Fiero. It screws right into the factory temp sensor hole in the intake on my 302. My 302 also had a plug in the thermostat housing, so I moved the stock temp sensor there. The GM fan control switch that I used has an on temp of 195 and off at 185. I also used a 185 degree thermostat.
I used a double relay system to wire the whole thing together. The first relay is a 75 amp unit that controls the actual power to the fan. I only wired the high speed fan. The relay runs hot from battery to the fan, and is triggered by the GM fan switch grounding at the "on" temperature. The second 30 amp relay doesn't control power, but provides ground to the 75 amp relay when the A/C clutch is engaged, so the fan always runs when the compessor is turning.
It's all automatic...I also installed a dash light that's on when the fan is turning just so I can make sure its working.
