Snow on the mountain this morning, about five inches so far and still falling steadily.

Heavy wet snow. If it was colder we would likely have a foot by now.

 

sounds like you can break out the sleds.....

Good morning Nevada. Moving right along page 15 on day 13. Keep up the good work. There is a little bit of fog out here.

 

Sun is out, snow has stopped and driveways are cleared. (My wife did most of it!!!!!)

GOOD MORNING.
We got a little rain around 5 am. But it is cloudy & warm 41 degrees. Looks like the sun maybe coming our way, when I look west I see blue skies.

I tell you what..with all this warmth the snow meted to fast...the fair grounds are under water..its a real mess.

 

That should make for some good mudding competitions there though

 

This morning's snow is melting off rapidly.

Bruce, I have gotten to the point that I don't believe the weather people at all. They have no idea. It always amazes me that the better equipment & training the worse they predict the weather @ least anywhere out of Reno/Tahoe area. The difference sometime between the weather in Reno & 60 miles east here in Fallon is not even close to what they predict. In the 60s there was a weatherman on Channel 8 Tom Lilly & he was the last weatherman that could predict with a great deal of accuracy weather in Rural Nevada. I can remember 3 years ago in Elko NOAA from there Elko office predicted snow & blowing winds @ 7am in the morning for that day starting @ around noon continuing through the night. At 2pm, 4pm, 11pm, & at 7am the next morning we still had SUNSHINE/clear skies & NO WIND & never had it. I even remember going on there site & seeing the temp. in Elko was 13 degrees @ a certain time. I was in Elko & it was 38 degrees. One thing I'm sure of is when Reno starts predicting a big storm coming it might be big in your area but out of your area it turns out to be nothing. Most of the time it isn't even a big storm in your area. When you have to get prepared is when they tell you it is going to be nice, with warm temps, sunshine.
So go figure.

Im really glad our work trucks are all 4x4s.i dont think ive unlocked the hubs on mine since the first snow fall...and this last week we have needed 4 wheel drive just to get out of the parking lot.
