Sorry to bother you with more casting number information, however, I have some interesting numbers on my 68 F250 truck. I purchased the vehicle from a family member who at one time reportedly dropped a 428CJ into the truck. Other family members claim the heads, cam, intake, and carburation were all swapped with more fuel-efficient parts.
The heads are stamped D0VE-C, which I believe to be the heads from a CJ. The exhaust manifolds, which were so large that the truck's frame had to be cut, read D0OE-A. Intake manifold: 4 D0VE-9425-B with F4 OL24 below the casting number. Also of mention are the numbers of "18", "DIF", and "2L25," with two dots below the "2," on the driver's side head.
Any help you could send me would be greatly appreciated.
DIF indicates Dearborn Foundry as opposed to CF symbol of Cleveland or WF of Windsor
I have looked in my FE book and see no DOVE casting numbers. I have seen mention of DOVE heads in regards to 429/460 385series or "Lima" engines
Andrew I have Dove-C heads on my 460, Im getting ready to do a engine swap. I got my 460 out of a 70 Lincoln. The heads do have large in-take vales, 2.24 diamiter. Big enough to suck down a Chevy.
DOVE is "385" series motors, that is 429/460. If the heads aren't DOOE-R then they are NOT cobra jet/super cobra jet. DOVE heads are the last year to have small combustion chambers. That is a good thing. DOVE did not come with 2.245 intake and 1.720 exhaust. They would have been put in at a later date. Only CJ/SCJ came with the big valves and huge ports. Police heads did come with in between sized ports and valves, but they are a whole other story.
