Good that you made it through. I have to get dug out enough to get out my lane to go to work. The snowdrift I am stuck in is hood high on the car. Since the gas 4wd won't start, and my diesel is still over at my friend's and still needing work, looks like I might be walking to my parents again, but at least it will only be a one-way walk this time.
Morning, not good, just morning. I read that we all are getting the same enjoyment out of this weather. Just for a comparison, a fellow FTE'r from Alaska posted on another forum that he had 32* a couple days ago. That was ABOVE zero. Maybe that will get here next week. You guys and gal stay warm today.
Well my driveway is a giant snow drift...and it stays that way until afternoon. I wasn't about to spend time clearing it off...it would have been drifted right back in this morning. I had to ram the truck through a giant snow pile Mr. Plow left in front of my driveway last night.

My arms are tired though, holding the wheel against the wind constantly for 9hrs gets real old.
Hope everyone stays warm today.
I bet. Not a good few days to be driving a semi. Saw a lot jacknifed and in the ditches. Glad you made it back.

Oh, we can only hope. I'd like to go wash the salt off my truck and I would if I wasn't so worried my doors would freeze shut.
Good morning Iowa, happy Friday! Well, at least I was able to get in to work today, the highways were all closed yesterday. Still cold, but they are talking 30's for next week. FINALLY!
Lisa a little trick you can use is to put a very thin coat of vasiline on your door seals before you wash it.
WD40 works too but wash it first then spray it (don't know if you can spray first though)
Hmm..I might have to try that. Thanks for the tip. I can spend some time trying to make sure the stripping is dry too but there's no guarantee. The WD-40 might have to do the trick! They are "saying" it might reach 30 by next Tuesday..make it a little easier to get it all done.
I have some weatherstripping on the bottom of my driver's door that got partially ripped off the last time it got really cold. I took some water and used the ice to secure it to the door so it didn't fall off. Guess I better fix that haha.
Yep, but I couldn't resist. I already have a red truck, so it was between a blue and the black when I ordered it. I put two of them nose to nose at the dealer, similar to what I wanted, one black, the other the blue I was thinking about.
Time to go see what equipment troubles I will have today... Still have to get my lane cleared from the last round. Couldn't get anything going good enough in time yesterday, so now I get to try again today. I am hoping that the loader will behave after putting fresh filters on, as it was cutting out a bit over half throttle. I even had dumped kerosene in to try to help out the bio blend, but it would seem the wax permanently dropped out of suspension and plugged the filters.
And a good news alert: my wife passed her RN exam! My ears may be bleeding for a few days from the screams she let out....
