I replaced my oil cooler and EGR cooler with a Neal products upgrade. I started the truck up and runs fine except coolant is leaking around the egr cooler hose where it slides onto the tube of the cooler. I had an orange hose on the truck but the new kit came with a blue one which is the upgraded hose. It seems like you would want hose clamps on it. How can I fix this now?
Did you slide the hose on there right? It has a flat spot in the metal ring if you turn it till it hits just right then it should slide all the way on. If you did then hmm......
Pretty sure it is indexed right,it is the other end that is leaking
Ouch. I think the hose will only go on there one way so. If it were me I'd get some heater hose and a couple of pipe clamps and try to wrestle it on there. Somebody may have another fix. Man that sucks.
DID YOU SPRAY A LUBRICANT IN THE HOSE BEFORE YOU SLID IT ON.SOMETIMES INSTALLING A PART THAT HAS A O-RING IN IT WITHOUT LUBING IT UP CAN CAUSE YOU TO CUT THE O-RING.I USE WD40 OR A SILICONE BASED SPRAY.I ALSO CLEAN THE MATTING SURFACES WITH O LIGHT SCOTCH BRIGHT PAD TO TAKE OFF ANY RESIDUE THAT COULD OF BUILT UP.
replaced with another new hose after the dealer determined the one I had was defective. The end that slides over the cooler tube was not cut square causing the O-ring to not seal right.
