Hello,
I own a 2001 Ford Excursion with a 7.3L diesel with around 220,000 miles on it
and here recently its been having transmission problems,
such as shifting hard or late and my O/D off light flashes sometimes
I pulled the codes and these codes came up
P0732
P0733
P0781
I'm hoping this doesn't mean my tranny is going out, if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it.
component:
SSA, SSB or Internal Transmission Components
Description:
1-2 shift error.
Condition:
Engine rpm drop not detected when 1-2 shift was commanded by PCM.
Symptoms:
Incorrect gear selection depending on failure mode and transmission range selector lever position. Refer to the Solenoid Operation Chart. Shift errors may also be due to other internal transmission concerns such as stuck valves or damaged friction material. May flash TCIL.
Basically, it is telling you to take it to the dealer for diagnostics.. Your internal solenoids in the trans could be going, or a electrical fauult in the shift lever.
We just had a thread on that, Shift levers are rubbing through a wire bundle and shorting. Check yours.
I have had a hard shift from 1st to 2nd in my X pretty much when i bought it. It was in shop many times and nobody could figure out why. It just seems to be built that way. If I idle slow and easy it can be slight but if i get on her it slams 2nd almost like my mustang did back in 89.

Sounds like you have an aftermarket valve body on yours.
