I need tires. With that said, I think going to an 18 inch rim would be a nice upgrade. My X is a stock 4 x 4. What size rim/tirewould fit? Spacers needed? I'm looking for something simple like this
No one can answer your question without more information on the year of your Excursion, and more about the rims. You can do a search too and find tons of info
You are confusing wheel size with tire size. The diameter of the rim may be 16, 17, or 18 inches, but the tire size will determine the final diameter. You can buy tires in any of those rim sizes to reach a certain diameter.
However, if you choose a tire that is also too wide, then it rubs the inner fender or springs.
So, first choose your diameter tire you wish to go to. This will determine how much lift you need. Then choose the rim size. Then try to find a tire that will fit those dimensions without being too wide for the lift that you have chosen.

I'm not really new to tires or diameter or anything, I just hate typing so I never get information out that way I want to.
I want to run 33-34 inch tire, 18 or 20 inch rim... whatever is available. Nothing wider than 285mm. I love the way it looks after seeing others do this.
