I am going to be getting new tires and rims on my 92 F150 4x4. I am going from 15 in rims to 16 inch rims and I am wondering when I should get an alignment.
I know I need an alignment now so that isn't a question.
Any advice on whether I should get an alignment before or after new tires and rims? Does it matter?
Take it to a shop that will mount the new tires on the rims and perform a wheel alignment at the same time. My shop does it all on one rack.
This.
Also, firestone has a lifetime alignment deal. Buy once, align as many times as you want. You'd be surprised how far it gets out of whack after only a few months.
The Firestone lifetime alignment is a good deal. My dad has it and has been pretty happy. Considering the fact that I take my truck in for an alignment every 6 months for $56 each, it would pay for itself pretty quick.
