Ok so i'm on here for a friend, he works with me and he is getting really tired of me making fun of him for driving a gutless ford v-10 that gets horrible mileage. I feel bad for him so i figured i'd check out what the ford guys were doing for better HP / mileage. Any suggestions?
I think we would rather talk to your friend ,than you .
with a first post like that.
You should have him come on here!
All engine /gear /tranny options have their pro's and con's and have a purpose in the truck field.
Have fun with the responses you get !

We may have a troll guys!
Rich
Not real sure what troll means but your most likely right. I really would like to help him though. and I could give him vague answers like intake, exhaustl, programmer, what i would like to know is which combinations work the best
First thing needed from your friend is
Truck: yr so we can tell if he has a 3v engine or 2v?
Model: supercab /Crew cab /regular cab determines vehicle weight?
what gear ratio?
A troll is someone who visits other websites to cause trouble ,with statements such as your first comments
Be nice and behave and some V10 guys will answer over the next few days. V10 is a powerhouse waiting to be unlocked. It won't perform like a modded diesel but the V10 is very well the best gas engine out there. However, it will always be a fuel hog.

get the rest of the info asked for and we can possibly help your friend.
Also how many miles on the vehicle?
what kind of maitenance does he do ?
is he the first owner?
A 3v v10 with the right gear ratio ,will run as good as stock diesels.
known fact.
2v v-10's were down on hp ,thus why the 3v was brought in.
Nowadays ,trying to get performance an fuel mileage can be an excersise in futility.
not worth it these things aren't racecars.
