V-10 really needs HP

05 to current is the most power full at 362hp.

What is he doing that is not enough to handle?

If I had a 6.8L 3V engine, this is what I would install for more performance:

K&N FIPK:
57-2567 - K&N 57 Series FIPK, Performance Intake Kit

SCT X3 Tuner w/ Custom Tunes:
XCalibrator3 Ford

JBA Headers:
JBA Performance Exhaust Part #:1670S Cat4ward® Shorty

The place to start is as stated above. I just bought an X3 tuner from Mike at 5star. 5 Star Tuning | Custom Dynomemeter Chassis Tuning Products and Services He writes custom tunes for each truck. I just uploaded the 87 octane tune last night and what a huge difference! I can't imagine what the 93 will feel like, but as soon as my tank goes down I will find out. He not only makes power with his tunes, but he also address the sloppy drive by wire system as well as all the trans deficiencies. The five speed auto actually uses all five speeds, shift points and pressures are improved, and converter lockup timing is reworked. Read all the happy customers in the V10 section and I'm sure your buddy will make the purchase. Best $379 I've ever spent on a vehicle and I've bought a bunch and tweeked every one.

Why would someone want a friend that makes fun of him and insults his truck to help him with performance?

Why doesn't the owner come on here and discuss it?

If he does, he probably will be happy with what he finds and his "friends" won't have to know what he's doing.

I second the question of what is he doing that 362 HP and 457 pounds of torque aren't capable of?

Bottom line, it is a truck. It delivers it's HP and TQ in direct relation to the pressure applied to the gas pedal. It is not a race car, it it too damn heavy, and not designed for such foolishness. If he feels the truck needs more HP he needs to apply alittle more pressure to the pedal. If he feels it is slugish after that he needs to look into a tune by 5star which will make the truck shift at it's peak points. If this does not deliver what he feels he needs, maybe a diesel would better fit his style of on demand TQ and HP. If he is over all pleased with his truck and he is comfortable with the way it delivers it's power and TQ.........Then he needs to pick his friends better!!

Just a little curious, what is you do with the Cummins since the Dodge truck will wear out
years before the Cummins does?

Cummins: Because Dodge needs a separate company to make anybody interested in their vehicles.

I did a Google search: They melt down the remains and cast them into a Fiat.

Now don't pick on the guy for owning a CTD Dodge. I have had 3 and they were all excellent trucks- never had them in for anything but an oil change. I just became a Ford guy because I didn't want a truck built by the Italians or the federal government . On the other hand, I can't understand why the guys friend doesn't come on here himself and check out all the excellent information. Kinda weird.
