yep, still have them, but I'm pretty sure they don't... heck, I'll go try now...
EDIT: yep, still do!
so now, since I'm a picky barstar, is it REQUIRED that the pad be installed on the door? I know for convenience, it's there, but I like to keep things "clean"... so, with that said... could I mount it, say... inside the fuel door? or some other "hidden" location? Perhaps the best question would be "What is the effective range of the transmitter/keypad?"
I have the older style keypad and it has about the same range as the keyless remote. I installed it at the rear drivers side corner on the inside of the bed, just below the rail, so it is hidden, but still accessible unless the bed is full. The back has 3M tape to hold it.

Hmmm.....I don't know what the range of the thing is, I would guess it would be about the same a the remote would be. The keypad itself is just stuck on with double sided tape, so you could put it anywhere really.

It would work for you then! I thought bout my fuel door when I installed mine. I decided on the back of the cab below my window. Not really noticeable, but more convenient than the fuel door.
The range is pretty much like the fobs. I used it from bout 15-20ft away before I installed it. I love having this option than crawling around under the truck for a hidden key!
Just a little update. Ed has been a big help. I'm sifting through wiring diagrams right now.
On the GEM, there is a used 22 pin connection, an unused 16 pin connection, and a used 26 pin connection (if that is making sense). I'm going to pull the door paneling off tomorrow so see if there is a plug in there (though I highly doubt there is). Thanks everyone for the help thus far!
You can get these at doorkeypads.com. I looked for many, many hours for one for my new 2010 Tundra Crewmax and this is the ONLY one I found that did not require cutting my door or drilling to run the wires. Another big plus for this model was that I was able to install myself, so I didn't have to drop off at a stereo shop, etc to get installed like would have been required for all the other systems I saw... After having one in my 2006 Ford F150, I really can't say how handy a feature this is to have... especially if you have small kids...
