Pat hopefully it works this time around. I hate it when I do a mod that EVERYONE else has already done and it doesn't work like it should the first time. You'll get it hammered out and be alright.

In my opinion for you to collapse a pretty stiff fuel line with the factory pump, there has to be some kind of restriction somewhere before the point where it collapsed. Shouldn't have anything to do with the length of the hose.

Put the key in the ignition and listened, the pump didnt sound the way I thought it should, but it is a new pump. I lowered the tank again, found no crimps. Raised the tank and cycled the key about 10 times. There still were no kinks. I secured the tank, secured teh cover, took her for a ride, and as of right now, she is running good. So, I am now going to try and get my home work down and get off to school.

I will let everyone know if something changes, adn thank you all for your support!!!!
That is so weird. So the line is collapsing because it's too long? I guess I don't understand what's going on, but would be equally as frustrated as you.

I've been ***** to the wall with studying all week for my two math exams (DE & Prob. & Stats.) tomorrow. Going back to school has been a PITA.

Good luck and hopefully you've fixed the fuel line issue.

3/8's line, and yeah, I am with you on the question of, why would to long be an issue. Second day driving and still no problems, pump sounds fantastic. I figure I will wait a week, and drop the tank and re set up my pick up to where it belongs.. I just dont learn, do I?

Dang Pat, You got your workout for the month on that mod. Hope that fixed your problem though. I am thinking about doing this mod so I am watching closely so I know how to fix it if it happens to me. Good luck

I am going to suggest that you just replace the whoe 10' with hose, so as not to play with this as long as I Had..

The extra length of the added fuel line may have caused it to kink when you raised the tank to it's final position. JMHO.

I'm certainly glad that it seems to be OK now.

That was my suggestion/thought/guess as well as I mentioned when I had the same issue with my old Bronco years ago. It drove me nuts as well. It wasn't because of an extra length, just how it all fit when I raised the tank into the frame. Anyway, Pat I hope this is it for you, buddy!

So far so good, it does look like the hose was pinching right up next the frame. In another week or so I will drop the tank and re hang the pick up to the right length, but I think I got it, of course with the help and support of this group.
I have to tell you Lisa, if I didnt get yesterday, I was giving you a 25 hour warning, I was heading your direction for help. I figure 25 hours at a max speed of 35..that would have been a long trip.

Well, it'd give you time to work on improving your butt groove...

I'm here for any weary FTE travelers who want to stop on by!

I bet you can give lessons on how to drop a tank now though eh? Practice makes perfect.
