I don't know if you have this problem at idle. Might try a 5 gallon can of diesel and taking the input of the fuel pump into it. Maybe the collapsed line caused the fuel pump to go bad. I would have a fuel pressure gauge on it to see if pressure changes.

No problem at idel ( most of the time ) No problem at half throttle. Just full throttle.. Maybe I should start looking this in a positive light.. you know, foot off the pedal, better milage.. cant get to speeed, so less wear on the brakes...hmm, there might be a plus to this..

NOTTT!!!

I'm not sure that you can get to it.

Kwikkorded had a problem like this and maybe he can shed some light on it.

Good Morning all, well, I have barely made it to work today.. I have located a fuel pump out of a Superduty with 24,000 miles on it for 60.00.. The guy is going to confirm that it indeed works and will be calling me in a couple of hours. If for what ever reason I am still stuck, I will be pulling everything out of my truck this weekend and replacing the whole damn fuel system..

Then the RR wouldn't be an option Pat, they run 300.00 and above. Clay has the FRX (CCK) kit for a buck 40 if your interested but you got other issues right now. Still subscribing, haven't done it yet, good luck bud!!

ah ok i didnt know you wanted to keep it minimal. the only reason i suggested the RR was it also has a fuel pressure gauge in it so you could tell later on how your fuel pump is doing. where in michigan is sterling heights?

When my pump went bad about 2 months ago it died rather slowly compared to what I expected. No idle change and no real half throttle changes, but when I got on it(not fully) the last time, it just had no get up and go. I limped to a hotel parking lot and checked everything I could and decided it was fuel related. It would start, but would run rough and just not go anywhere. Maybe the fuel pump will be the solution.

I appreciate all of the well wishes, and I have not thrown in the towel at this, I hope I havent given that impression.. A little flusterd that I am not done yet, but far from any ill thoughts.. yet.

I love the timing with this, I can not tell you how many times I have gone in and repaired a machine, to have something else come up.. The biggest problem withthat, I ALWAYS check what I did last, it just make simple sense. But some times ( like today ) I dewell on the cause longer then I do the repair.
I am really thinking that may have been caused by my neglect of the fuel filter, because as of yet, nothing else in the system make sense ( to me ).

Thank you all for hanging out with me through this though, in a odd way, it has been kind of fun. I mean hell, dropping a tank in 15 mins now..
And these little specks of decorations, at the right angle, they even look like hair..Okay, there also needs the right lighting to.. but it is improvement.

Hope you get it figured out Pat. Don't know if I can totally help with diagnosing the problem. With it happening at WOT, that makes me think it's definitely the fuel pump. It's supplying ok pressure at idle and mid throttle but not when the full demand is asked. Kinda random though it would crap out at the same time as the in-tank mods.

I've still got the oem fuel pump from that wrecked '00. It has 87K on it. Had decided to keep it for the OBS I've got, but I'd let it go if you don't have any luck on the other one. I know for a fact it worked because I drove that wrecked truck around quite a bit before stripping it.
