Head swap?

How hard is it to swap from the non PI heads to PI heads?
Is a 2V to 3V swap possible?

The PI headswap is possible-you'll need the heads, intake manifold, etc from the top end,and a retuned PCM. As for 3V heads-you'll need the same thing, along with some wiring changes, and a solution to the CPS being on the wrong bank of the engine. I think there's a clearance issue on 3V heads in an E-Series.

That is what I thought, how much of a height and width difference is there?
How do I deal with the CPS problem? There was a guy that fixed that , putting an 05 in a 2000. I can not remember who.

He never posted that he actually FIXED the CPS issue, he said he was just going to drive around with the check-engine light on and ignore it.

You also need to fabricate a throttle-body to intake spacer.

After picking our collective brains for a month or so, he said he was making a "patented conversion kit" to make money off it, and we kinda ran him off

Did he have driveability problems or just the light?
I did a 92 to 99 4.6 swap that had a light on, but no issues at all driving the car.
just a light can be tuned to go away.
So after asking for help he wanted to sell the info yall gave him?

Didn't Mike from 5-Star just swap out his non-PI heads to PI heads and get like 45+ HP out of the swap? Why even consider the 3V heads when he's got all the proven...uh...DYNO! proven swaps done...for the most part.

ya, that is the way I am leaning.
I will not do it tell I am in the motor for something else, the heads on a V10 in a van are to hard to pull. I may pull the cab to do it.

My non PI to PI was all bolt on. As mentioned, you do need PI intake.
Oh, and had to re-route one heater hose as the non-PI was at rear of intake manifold and PI was at front. Little stuff like that, but no machining.

The 3V conversion is a much bigger deal. The heads bolt on, but the intake and exhaust ports are radically different. And factory 3V intakes are all throttle-by-wire so things get messy. And all sensors are moved around. Nothing un-solvable with enough time, research, and effort - but it is NOT a "bolt on".

I am not racing the thing, I do not have to have the power, so I will just go with
the PI heads and a 5 star tune, and it will tow like i want it to and i dont have to mess with the 3v stuff.
