PIP Sensor module for distributor

A soda can should work.
Yes that is right.
Yes
The EVR can not effect anything as far as running with the EGR blocked.
The EVR can set a code if it is bad but that is about it.
No I do not have much PM space. I sometime call on the phone to help someone if they email me their phone number. My email address is at the bottom of this post.

Okay. So we'll just keep the discussion on here so maybe some one else can learn from this too. If I ever get it figured out. So we're back to square one. Maybe the wires to my EVR are bad? How would I test those? Because I plugged the new plug into it and tested the wires coming from the new plug without the wires from the truck connected to see what the resistance was of the EVR and it was at a steady 35 ohms.

To check the EVR wires you should have a red wire from the power relay that has near battery voltage on it using the NEG post of the battery for ground. The other wire is a brown wire with a pink stripe and to check it you would have to unplug the PCM Computer and use a ohm meter to pin #33 of the Computer plug to the unplugged EVR plug. You could also check it to ground for a short with the ohm meter.
One of the things to check is the 5V DC reference voltage. You can check it at the TPS plug, it is a brown wire with a white stripe. You can use the gray wire with a red stripe at the same TPS plug for the meter ground.

OK you need to completely forget about the EGR system because it's not your problem, you have a lean stumble under heavy load which is caused by a leak in the exhaust or smog(air injection) system upstream of the O2 sensor or an old/tired O2 sensor. Once again.. do you have any codes? You need to pull codes, and how old are the plugs and wires?

And I'm not sure but the only exhaust leak I know about is my clamp that holds the pipe on after my stock muffle has come loose. Will take a picture in the morning. It rattles and I can move it back and forth but it's definitely past the O2 sensor. Will look around in the morning. I think we're on the right track though.

So we changed the plugs, looked fine, replace with same motorcraft copper core. Looked at distributor cap and rotor, looks brand new, no arcs between the plug wires. My dad thinks it's something in the distributor itself because it's the only thing left that hasn't ever been changed. Original distributor that has roughly almost 200k on it. Whatcha think?
