My wifes 07 Expedition has it and I hate the TCS won't even pull a 2100 lb boat up a hill with wet grass without turning the TCS off. Thats one reason my new truck is a goverment motors (GMC)

Thats ridiculous. I pull my 8,000 pound boat out of steep slippery boat ramps with no problem. The TCS helps control wheel spin and makes for easy haul-outs when a 4x4 would have been required otherwise.

Traction control dont stop you from pulling the load. It controls the power so that if your giveing it to much it will cut it back to stop wheel spin. You need to learn better throttle control.

No, traction control will cut the fuel to idle, hope the wheelspin disappears, then give you throttle control again.
This sucks. This *really* sucks when you turn out in front of an 18-wheeler when you have plenty of time, but hit a bit of gravel causing a wheel to spin and thus losing power. Ask me how I know.

Thats called bad driver skill. Should have checked road and dodged the gravel if the truck was that close that you had to gun it. I bet if you didnt have to gun it you wouldnt have got wheel spin and would have been fine.
lulz funniest story ever. there was a kid at my school a grade below me who though he knew everything apart cars(he was a mopar fan so no one really took him seriously). He stole one of his classmates 07 mustangs with the 4.0L V6. Came standard with the traction control or w/e. He tried doing a donut around a row of cars and half way through the trac control kicked in and he had his foot to the floor. He took out 2 parked cars and the mustang. I laugh as I lay down donuts with my 5.0 and an 8 ft bed around his moms taurus
I've never had mine funtion like that. Then again, I try and not give it anymore throttle than what the surface can provide grip for anyway.
There's no better traction control than your foot. Like you say you give the power required for the surface. Wheels spinning even with traction control off gets you no where fast. A spinning wheel is bad news with or without traction control on. i remember back before launch control was added to F1 cars. They used to just sit and spin there wheels when pulling away and the guy with the better throttle control left the others standing.
