Wow, that sucks man. Good to hear you're OK. I didn't see this posted in the 6.0 forum, glad I stopped over here. Good luck with whichever route you take. Hopefully you fix her up, thats a good-looking truck you have there!

Whether or not you have a salvage title is irrelevant. What you paid for it has nothing to do with what it is worth, especially when it is from another drivers liability. You have to talk reasonable replacement costs, including whatever accessories are included. if you had a gold plated cow catcher on the front it's not your fault someone pulls in front of you. However, if you elect to not carry extra coverage for options you add, which insurance rates don't account for, and you have to claim against that coverage, THEN your accessories might be excluded. Unfortunately it is up to you to know what your insurance premiums cover and what they don't by reading the pages and pages of insurance documents, or asking your agent.

Their liability will cover it since it was 100% their fault (cited for running the stop sign) and I do not have collision coverage, only liability and comprehensive. Hopefully they will cover it well, my only fear is because we both have Allstate insurance they might try to short me. I'm almost hoping it totals out now and I'll buy the salvage, I think I would make out best that way.

Allstate will do the right thing... they don't want to potentially lose two customers.

You know, thats actually a rare truck you hit wasnt it? back then they didnt make crew cab F150's did they? Maybe I'm wrong, not sure. I see the centurion badge on the hood and I remember they are the ones that made custom 4 door bronco's. Just an observation.

Maybe, but I can't really say I care much how rare their vehicle was, they should have kept it behind the stop sign.

I was thinking the same thing. But it is a good thing everyone made it out alright.

Insurance adjuster came out yesterday and gave his estimate. $4300, about half of what the local shops estimated. I looked over his quote and he missed a bunch of stuff, had fender edge repair done instead of full panel repaint, etc. I submitted a letter with the other quotes and contesting the huge difference, have to wait and see what happens.

That's because they're paying for it. Guaranteed that if their insurance was something other than Allstate they would go for a full paint job instead of blending.

I agree, I don't know if calling them on it will do any good though. I'm going to demand full panel painting, no spot fixes and blending.

Let you Allstate agent know about this thread and that hundreds of people are watching how they "protect" you in this no-fault claim...

If there is just damage on the edge of the fender, where it meets the door for example I'd say it's .5 hours repair and partial paint or spot paint.
