Yeah its pretty sloppy out there. Didn't even want to attempt the area with all the tree stumps and burned tree's. Went through the most part of the dessert though. Perfect day for it, just a light rain almost the whole time down there.
Seemed like the truck was kinda gutless after 50% throttle today so I'll have to see whats going on there. Seems like its always something after hitting mud.
Yeah that's probably best in my situation. Most area's down there 4wd hi is more than enough but I did hit a few spots that really coated my rims and tires where I probably would have been better off in 4wd low. I think I might just run back down there during the week sometime. Since its suppose to be rainy anyway. Plus I need to figure out why my fan is sounding the way it does. lol Don't want that going out on me on a trail again.
I just like lowrange as its easier on the trans, and I feel likke I have more control over the rig, I don't know if I can make it down there at all during the week, but its hard to say, I have to put a fuel cell in my Dads Bronco, and do some small wiring and stuff to my wheeler yet. But I want to do a "shake down" run with the wheeler next weekend, even if its just around the house.
Looking good Dave. That sucks about the power steering pump; always something though. haha. I really like the look of your wheeler. Never noticed the front end, the way you bent the fenders in, I really like that.
Sure hope you can find some time for yourself this week. I'd go nuts without my weekly trail ride to get away from it all. If you can make it out this week, I was thinking about tuesday night, should still be nice and rainy so prime for some wheeling.
I've never really seen anyone squeeze the front like that. I'm willing to bet there will be a few followers now though. I could totally see where it would be helpful while off road.
I'm helpin Chris (the guy that was with me at S washington) build a suburban, and we are doing the same thing to the front of that. There was a couple other guys thinkin about doin it too, but they said they didn't want to be a "copy cat" lol. I'm not lookin forward ro cuttin the hood to fit though.
