I think it is funny that you call BS on 3' of mud then say that 3 weeks later.
My bike puts out 165hp to the rear wheel and is capable of over 175 mph. Last year while riding with some friends (state policemen) we opened them up on a 5 mile stretch of newly paved road and at 164 mph my friend Sean was still pulling away from me on his GSXR 1000.

At that speed, everything is just a blur. I was in 6th gear and running 10,000 RPM. My bike red lines @ 11,500 so I still had more to go but I let off. That was the fastest I've ever been in any vehicle except an air plane and not something I will ever do again.

These bikes aren't called "crotch rockets" for nothing. It will do 90 mph in 1st gear.

Here is my bike:

at 135 everything is a blur, I can only imagine 164.
I am guessing when you say you will never do it again you mean that a few days later you
realized oh ****, I could have killed my self . That is what I did. Now I stay at 120 or less. what is a "demonoid invite"?

Back in the day I had a '79 GS550. I think it made all of 54 hp. One night after working the late shift and on a smooth straight section of highway I took it up to 120 mph in 5th gear. Once I shifted into 6th gear (OD) it didn't have the power to maintain that speed and started to bog down. That signaled the end of the thrill ride and suddenly felt lucky to have ridden such a light bike that fast.

The fastest I've been on four wheels was 130 mph. It was a Volkswagen Super Beatle of all things. Belonged to a friend. It had a Porche 912 (4 cylinder engine) in it with quad carbs and velocity stacks. I don't quite remember if the speedo went over 110 or if we extrapolated the speed by the distance between 110 and the peg on the speedo, or if it actually went that high. In any case it was way too high because I thought we were going to go airborne!

I have probably exceeded that speed flying small aircraft. But it's not memorable because speed doesn't have much relevance to pucker factor when you're in the air.

I do not think a beetle's aerodynamics were meant for that kind of speed...
so what is the fastest you have gone in your truck?

A road block was set up for me in my 1967 f-100. I was clocked at 132 mph.

I also had a company car crown vic that I always averaged 110 to 120 mph. I was stopped in Kiln, Mississippi by 3 units with guns drawn.

My vtx is a cruiser, but very very quick. I really do not go anywhere to open it up, I just accelerate rapidly.

85 mph. It doesn't really seem fast because it has a 3.54 axle and things stay pretty quiet.

Watch the dukes of hazzard movie. The scene where the duke boys are running to the boars nest, is actually a bar called the moonlight inn in French Settlement. The roadblock was set up there. The chief of police stopped me. He said he was sitting in the open when I came through at 86 mph and was going to let that go, but I came back at 132 mph. Long story short, I got a ticket for reckless operation and he radioed the roadblock to let me through. I was told to pay the ticket and stay out of his town for a year. It cost me 300.00 and he kept it off of my record.

I really should have lost my liscense, had my truck impounded, and gone to jail.

In a tiny town like that everybody is related, and in this instance I was fortunate to know a lot of his people.

It was a 390 with a c6. I do not know what gears they were, I replaced the chunk a few times from hot rodding it.

I have a couple of crown vic stories. The reasons that the cops settled down in those situations was because I was a recovery agent pulling people out of there houses while everyone slept.

I have to go now but I will tell you about out driving a state trooper when I get back.

Wink Nascar, F1 and guns

Sorry, i know im off (current) topic.. I enjoy Nascar more nowadays than F1. Does anyone think the breakaway series will stick? I kinda hope so, think FIA got too big for its boots. Also to my American gun nut friends, please cherrish and look after your gun rights. Here legislation makes it darn near impossible to get one LEGALLY (Long list of legal requirements and background checks). And then they turn most applications down!!! Imagine waiting 2 ore more years for a firearm application. Yip thats how it works here. However it doesnt prevent our voilent crime rate to decrease, on the contrurary.....
Hope my spelling didnt gave offence, English my second language...
Cool thread, take care,
-Valdor
