I love solid works I used it when I was in class learning to program CNC machines.
I was a CNC programmer for nearly 20 years. I got away from it years ago, but I still tinker with it a little. I may end up going back to work as one.
Here is a rendering of a custom bumper that I'm building for my truck and some D ring mounts. I like to visualize everything before I start the fabrication.
I didn't care for that design too much, so I made some changes to the captured drop brackets and tilted the tapered pieces back to conform to the front of the truck better.
I just got done changing a 01 town & country starter for a lady.
That minivan is the worst POS i have ever worked on.
I took me 5 hours of before i got it done.
BTW, the bumper looks good stosh.

LOL! working on a chrysler seems to take a lot longer, even changing the oil on my friends intrepid took at least 15 minutes longer than it did on my topaz
Hey.. to plug a vacuum line, is it as easy as it sounds? aka, crimp it off, insert a correct sized bolt, that kinda stuff?
forgot to mention, i put on a new air cleaner today, no more stock stuff, and of course it doesnt have the vacuum lines, so I just wanted to know if that was the proper way to plug them.

Hey guys and girl, I'll be on vacation and won't be back 'til August. I know you can get along without me because you did so for such a very long time.
Keep posting links in the suggestion box for the Tech Sticky as you see fit. I will update the sticky when I get back. The sticky is all your work and you've done a great job on it.
If something turns really really ugly, please file a post report and one of the other super mods or admin will take care of it. Otherwise , please don't pester them. You guys do a great job of keeping a low profile and I'd like to see you keep it that way. Remember what I always say, "the nail that sticks up, gets hammered down."
I have two other dedicated forums, but '80-'86 is the only truck forum I moderate. It's really been a new experience and has renewed my interest in what FTE is all about. Although it's only a short farewell, I just have to say what an honor it is to be your moderator. This is your forum and it's so great because you make it that way. You guys are the best!
BTW, I removed "june" from the title of this thread. So keep up the chatter while I'm gone!
yeah, i know how you feel sometimes with that one, but the only sad thing is i cant take my baby with me(my truck ) stupid exhaust grrr. that and 14.7 just aint as good as 25 when it comes to distance...
