Greg can you relocate me to the Sound?
I hope to do some little work on my truck today:
3G 130A alternator swap.
Fix my radiator support with some stainless I picked up @ Vulcan scrap.
Touch up my body work.
Replace the blown out speakers in my cab.
Maybe that's too ambitious...

my truck turned 220K. maybe i will buy the parts to replace the TOTALLY WASTED front knuckle u-joints, that were bad when i bought the truck at 60k. maybe......
well i dont see the sun, but i dont feel any R_ _ _ so i guess its a good day so far.

It needs TTB U-joints too.
I want to do them but expect I'm not up to doing the pivot bushings. I have to deal with all of it at once so I can get it properly aligned.

The railroad track crews were working right along side the station today.
Their blaring radio PA speakers caught my attention
and then I looked through the gaps in the brush and could see then toiling away.
Toiling at what, I don't know as I wasn't inclined to scale the fence and poke through the bushes to get a better view.

holy moly i made it! what a freeking night!
stopped at stratford to pick up mom's blown boost hose for her TDI, stopped at Dave's work to drop the bike and then gun it out to and half way across L.I. to get the car.
my sisters new(used) Saab 9-3 TURBO convertible is a very nice little car, i drove halfway home then i let her have it. its a mover, when the turbo spins you feel the back of the seat push. we need to fix one blown speaker and the LCD displays are skewed (normal for a saab). other than that it was a good buy.
DAVE- my dad apologizes for being on the phone, he was organizing crews/barges for tomorrow. every day needs to be scheduled around the tide for this job, its on one of the thimble islands. he had a few questions i couldnt answer though.....how many diesel generators are on that site, and is there any nuclear power there? it was a very interesting place to say the least, i wish i wasnt so rushed, i would have liked to check it out. thanks again dave.

There is only one diesel generator on the site and its inside a C-van aka conex.
The station has three jet engines that power the electrical generators for the grid.
There is no nuclear power here.
Millstone Nuclear Power Station is up in Waterford, the old Connecticut Yankee up in Haddem has been decommissioned.
Thanks for the effort on the bike, and eh NP about being distracted, could easily have been me if the station got a call to run.

Check Amtrak.com Search the employment section. My last dealing with Amtrak was at a derailment. We had to rerail a boxcar that wanted a different route. Seven Amtrak employees showed up. One helped the rest read the paper and hung out.
