ZING!!! are they hiring???? i could use a job like that!
Metro North seems to always be looking for new employees, I don't know what their turnover rate is, nor how picky they are.
The job posting Assignments reads "Must have the ability to work various hours, days, shifts and locations (Stamford and New Haven CT, Croton Harmon and Brewster NY)."
I hear that life is miserable for newbies.
Until you get sufficient seniority to land a fixed location assignment, one is scheduled week by week as to where to report and the shift hours the particular day of the week. They are an around the clock operation.
I understand that every Friday evening the next week's assignments gets posted so you can't plan your real life more than a week ahead.
Barely. Only got 6 hours in today as opposed to my usual 9. This freakin rain is getting annoying. Just be thankful it isn't snow.
I bet Brian is liking playing in all the puddles.
oh i sure did. i was playing in the mud all afternoon yesterday. heres some videos from our fun. the second video is where i buried my truck up to the trailer hitch in mud...at night. lol the ruts from the bronco yesterday were 2 feet deep.I looked at the weather today on the news and THE WHOLE MAP of CT was gray with clouds. darn!!! quack quack.YouTube - knockin trees down with a Bronco YouTube - Bronco
Brian is that a GPR on your buddy's dash? Kinda random.
And you'd be so proud of me. There's a big puddle on one of the roads near the farm so I went into it. The water splashed up higher than pinkie. The windshield looked like someone dumped a bucket of water on it.

Reminds me of when my daughter was much younger.
I'd be driving along the logging roads and as I came upon the puddles I'd be loudly saying.
"Frogs get out of the way, jump for your life."
And waving my arms of course.
And sure enough as I plowed through the puddles a few frogs would either jump out or get washed out.
Pete, theres alot of random stuff in that truck. the seats just got bolted down a couple weeks ago. and, believe it or not, that truck went swimmin a couple years ago. he parked alongside his driveway one day uphill of the pond, it popped outta gear, and you can figure out the rest. i guess he was out and when he came back the Bronco was in the pond and he fished it out with the tractor. so when I park where he parked the bronco, i put my truck in park, lock the e brake and choke the tires and as a good friend, make it a point to do it in front of him. lol how did pinkie do? was it able to power through? lol
Dave, thats funny. im sure we scared a few furry and non furry woodland creatures the other day.
having some fun in my truck. not a huge obstacle but fun none the less. disreguard (sp?) the weird run/walk at the end. this was like the 5th time i drove through it. the last time i went through sideways itll be nice and muddy now with all this rain YouTube - slinging alittle mud with my truck
So THAT'S the friend who had his ride roll into a pond. Got it.
Pinkie did alright. Didn't leak. Yet.
Saturday I'm hoping to spend a bit of time under my truck with a good wire brush and a few spray cans of black Rustoleum. Then I'll hit it all with a product called Fluid Film. It's a corrosion inhibitor and will hopefully help keep some snowy/salty crap from sticking to the underside of my truck this winter. I'm sick of seeing rust when I go under there.
You need to add to your Rep count...and I'm told I must spread it around before I share it w/ you again.
You know maybe the Chapter needs a new thread, "Rep Points - Pass'm Around" a how-to on passing out Rep Points.
And we can all swing through that thread and each poster can rep the person who just posted before them.
- Or -
Maybe we should get in the habit of just nightly passing out Rep Points to whoever posts in the B/s thread, sort of like the hash marks the military uses for length of enlistment.
Hmmm or maybe the Thread can just becomes a roster of who routinely posts, and we can just run down the list every so often.
We should give this some more thought, could be onto something here
