Thanks Pat, I' am reminded at times that my growing years were not normal both by the way others talk of theirs and constant reminders from those close to me. At 50 will be 51 in a few months (May) I should be young enough to have been more of the modern time but where I was raised rurally both here at Chugwater and by Laramie Peak I was around others that knew the old life only, having come through the turn of the 20th century, Depression and WW2, being very poor and isolated I had this for my background to build on and came to realize even then that every thing I did relied mostly on my self to do as there would be times when either I could not get to help or I had to take immediate action so that I could seek help later if necessary.
This knowledge helped also in trying to lessen the chances of serious injury or illness that would have required medical care as by Laramie Peak I spent one winter up there by my self, not seeing another person for almost 3 months after my Granddad passed away and my Grandmother was with her daughter in Washington. That winter had been harsh and the mail carrier came through Mon,Wed, and Friday if he could get up the canyon, but I still had to walk around a mile from where I lived to get to the mail box on the main road if I cut straight through the timber and hills. I had only a 2 wheel drive truck and a tractor that winter but neither would have gotten me out of there had I needed to. The mail carrier would not have worried until I had not picked up my mail from the last time. I had no other form of communication.
Sounds like I' am bragging but I think sometimes I' am glad and fortunate both to have gotten this far and do not take things for granted. Even though I grew up the way I did and seem proud of it enough by all standards those days are gone and done knowing now that when someone does need medical attention that I will seek it for them. None of mine has had to know hunger as well, as for me I have these past several years not missed the trek out to the little house on the hill that had wind blowing through the cracks in bitter cold Dec.,Jan., or wasp's having their nests and hovering about while you were trying to have that special moment with nature. That I don't miss one bit.
Did it again, I got wordy but hope it was a good read none the less but now I must hit the highway to go get things done.
Pat, the newspaper here does a funny April Fools day story every year up to this year. The story last year was about not being able to have pets int he city limits due to the doo-doo problem. All poop found in the city would be DNA analyzed and the owner fined. The city would however allow dogs in the city during Frontier Days since it is such a big money maker for the city. So many people freaked out that they had to stop doing to story.
Miles, one of the guys from Delaware posted a car and driver story this morning, stating that Obama had informed General Motors and Chrysler that they were going to have to pull all support of NASCAR to get the stimulus money. It was a great prank, but man, people FREAKED!! I was going to post a link to it, but the magazine already pulled the story!

And so ends this day of March 32, hope every one had fun today, as for me I was working on a vehicle in a garage attatched to a $450,000 dollar home today and told the owner who was a good friend of mine that his concrete in the garage (a heated floor) was hardly damaged as I pounded u-joints apart with a hammer selecting a place close to a corner where it could hardly be noticed. For a second I thought we may need oxygen then I begen to wonder for a moment whether he would freak out and as I started to smile he caught on. Good night all.
Good morning Tammie, Pat, and all others that pass through here this morn. It has finally turned out to be what looks like a nice day today. A very busy day is in store for me today as I have work that needs to be finished in Cheyenne this morn and then its the Denver auto show this afternoon. With all the problems that our auto manufacturers are having right now it may be a little tense.
Not much progress on either Pat. The truck is pretty much ready to go so we have been working on the trailer so we can sell it and get an enclosed trailer. We are planning on starting it on Saturday and maybe go for a little drive.
