Well thanks to all who have reposted You have help a ton. Now back to the dp tranny temps were around 215 Degree's empty. The tranny started slipping had it rebuilt by local tranny shop. When it was done they said that was to hot for every day use I took out the dp and tried a ts and it has been fine running around 140. Was something wrong with the dp? Will the dp build more power than the ts with a custom tune? I sold the dp but if there would a huge benifit to switching I would consider doing so. Thank you.
Yes slippage from a weak or dying torque converter will cause excess heat. What's bad though is that the trans shop couldn't build a trans to handle a chip. You got ripped off.

I think you would need to call Jody and ask him about the tuning. Tell him the whole story. He will not try to pressure you into buying his tunes, thats not how Jody rolls. He will tell you straight up the differences in what you have and what he can offer, and then you can make the choice.
