Good news first... My nuclear stress test came back perfectly normal, which means I do have a heart and it so far seems to be functioning pretty well.
"Bad news"/"Good news" combo (sort of)... I found out last Monday that our VP wanted to put my name on our "lay-off list"... but my supervisor not only talked him out of it, he got the VP to end up admitting that "We really need to NOT do that".... (yet).
Bad news... if you interpret the above, I have a good functioning heart with which I can enjoy all the associated domino effects from being layed off... if it comes down to n*t-cutting, so to speak.
"Good news"/"Bad news" combo again... my supv is working on finding one of our divisions who might be able to provide a temporary field assignment for 6-9 months that would take me out of the spotlight in the hopes of sidestepping layoff activities this summer, and the division President he has contacted is interested in meeting with me when he next visits out office... but that would more than likely mean I would live somewhere else in the country during the week and see the family on weekends alone for up to 9 months or so.
I dare say if they did another stress test on me again right now, I would pass with even higher flying colors because the stress load is "movin' on up"!
Good news again... I sold two shotguns for $1,100 last week to a co-worker, and have the cash set aside for a "just in case" fund.

I'm rambling, aren't I??
YIKES, Stressful!
hang tough and do what you have to, to stay healthy and employed.
Another good computer prank is going to your room-mate's desktop. hit the button that says "Prnt Scrn" then go to Paint and press Ctrl+V. Save it. Go to the desktop and right click. Set that picture as their new desktop wallpaper. Then right click on the desktop again and uncheck the thing that says "show desktop icons"
Then take their taskbar and hide it. You take the cursor and put it near the edge of the taskbar. Click and hold and drag downwards.
They'll be clicking on what appears to be their desktop icons wondering what the HECK is going on with their computer.
There is a way in Windows to turn the desktop upside down. Youy do it through the properties function. We do it all the time at work and it is a bitch to undo. You have to move the mouse left to go right and down to go up. It's hilarious.
Speaking of work, we just cut all over time and implemented a hiring freeze. Next up, if this doesn't get better, all hourly employees will be working 32hrs/week.
