Apparently I have to sign for my stuff in person. I've got half a mind to send him down to the farm since someone's there all day. Hopefully it'll rattle some of his packages around so they get broke. As long as they aren't mine...
I guess UPS has a hard time realizing people have jobs and school and such...
Around here they do not need a sig for resi delivery. They just leave it on the doorstep.

The governor decided she needed to bully some new laws through state legislature and change everything.
They changed from:
20 hours of on-road time
drivers ed
2 written tests (1 for permit 1 for license)
graduated licensing
to:
40 hours on-road
drivers ed + an 8 hr drug and alcohol course
6 months of having your permit before you can have your license
a "harder" written test for permits and no written test for licenses
2x as long for graduated licensing
no cell phones at all for new drivers (i actually agree with that one)
suspending your license for a YEAR if you get caught 15mph or more over the limit (very easy to do without thinking on certain 25mph roads around here that should really be 35 or 40mph roads)
So basically they made it harder on kids that would follow the rules in the first place because if you didn't follow the law for speed limits you wont follow new laws like those. And they took away any incentive to pay attention in drivers ed since there is no written test for your license. It's idiotic. [/rant]
Pretty similar to MN requirements. Unfortunately it is a proven fact that when young folks get their license they are the most likely to be involved in an accident.

Yea. I have yet to meet a single person who agrees with them. Everyone I've spoken to says they would be good in theory, but in practice the kids who would break the law in the first place are just going to break the new ones so it's just punishing kids who would follow the law.
The driving instructors all hate them because nobody has an incentive to pay attention in class so pretty much everyone is talking, texting, listening to iPods, etc.
I dont care how much instruction you have, you cant teach common sense. You wanna go street race, then you will, despite seeing the "scare tactic" videos they show in drivers ed!
One of the state reps here said something about legislation to limit and put time restrictions on how many times you can retake the test for your license. You can take the test now once a day and then if you fail come back the next day. One of our VA residents tried 83 times...kinda scary. The rep was like "do you really want a driver next to you going 65mph that failed 83x?".
You fail more than 3x you need to wait a week then try again. Maybe some extra studying is good for ya! 83 times...unreal...
No, thanks for asking though. It is about 2.5-3 hrs away from me. There are some more minor spots closer but not like the Red River in Fargo and Grand Forks. There was flooding close to this bad back in 1997 and when all was said and done Grand Forks moved the town further back.
My little Sophia was the one who saved the day by getting her mom.
Not much damage just the smoke to clean off everything.
I had left a bag of cereal on the stove when I left for work.At about 10:30 yestarday the bridge element came on by its self and the bag went up in flames.
Made a big azz mess on the stove top.
Lucky they were home when it happened or the house would of been gone.

Sounds like Sophia gets a party and Brad gets...punishment of some sort.

That little girl deserves a huge ice cream cone for that one Brad!! I'm glad that it was minor!
Tristan: You can't teach common sense and you can't fix stupid.
I had my last classroom drivers ed thing on Wednesday. I took 14 tests that were the same type as the one all the kids who were there for class were taking.
I was on test number 9 by the time they started correcting the one test they had to do.
One of the questions was "What do you do at an eight sided red and white sign?" THE KID GOT IT WRONG!!! Not even like they were joking. They were dead serious.
And new drivers may get into more accidents, but I firmly believe it is the people who are on their cell phones and putting on makeup and rushing to get little Johnny at soccer practice are the most dangerous people on the road.
