Prayers needed...
He has been struggling a lot lately with fluid build up in the abdomen...last week he had 3.5 liters drained...nearly 7 pounds of fluid!!!
Dan continues to fight like no one I have ever met...he truly is an inspiration to me and so many.
He continues to help others fighting this deadly disease (Pancreatic cancer). In the spring he and his wife made a video for PanCan awareness and they have posted them on YouTube.
There are 9 different segments if you are interested in hearing from Dan and Carrie...here's the link to the main page...you may have to click "see all" to see them all

Watching the videos you can get a sense of who Dan and Carrie are...but this one where they speak about their faith...is my personal favorite...and I've known Dan a long time...he is one of the most faithful people you will ever meet...he always accepts this journey as nothing more than a journey with our Lord...

Figured I'd share some info and update and post a link to the video series that was posted a few weeks ago.
Unfotunately Dan and Carrie continue to need our prayers as they continue on this journey that we are all part of.
Thanks,
Joe.

Yesterday we heard from Dan that the 3.5 liters of fluid that were drained last week had completed testing. The doctor was fully expecting that fluid to come back malignant...and he told Dan he would be completely shocked if it weren't...Dan had asked his doctor to never hold information back.
Well...the news is that the fluid is NOT malignant!...AMEN!!!
They are still not sure where the fluid is coming from...but the news is great on the test results...so our prayers ARE being answered and continue to be answered!
Just thought I would share the latest GREAT news!
Thanks again for your continued prayers for Dan, Carrie and the girls!
Joe.
Back in March of 2009 I started this thread asking for prayers for Dan and his family. You see in November/December of 2008 Dan was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer...stage four...at the time Dan was given 6 months to a year to live...thru an incredible amount of prayer warriors Dan not only survived well passed what the doctors predicted...HE LIVED a very full life these past 3 years defying all doctors "odds" and being called an "anomaly" in the medical journals...
At the time of Dan's diagnosis...he had a 2 year old daughter as well as two daughters in their late teens. The 2 year old is the child that brings a smile to everyone's face. Dan focused on her as his "center of energy" and "reason to live" because he knew at her young age she would not remember him as her dad if he were to fulfill the doctors predictions.
Over the last 3 years Dan truly lived an incredible journey doing things he had always wanted to do but never "had the time"...like all of us something always "got in the way"...in this time period...that little 2 year old has grown up to a 5 year old and has spent each and every day with Dan at home since he was on disability and on a near constant treatment regimine of chemo or some other "drug". But he fought like no one I have ever seen fight before...his tenacity was unmatched and the disease was kept at bay to the astonishment of the doctors.
Sadly though thru small ****** in his armoured coating...things just chipped away at his strength...most unrelated to his cancer...this blood infection or that fluid build up...constant barages on his body...probably due to the side effects of those very strong drugs they were pumping into his body...but Dan continued to fight each and every challenge laid at his feet and NEVER ONCE did he complain or reject his FAITH...he held true to Our Lord Jesus Christ...Dan always gave all the glory to Him for each day Dan knew was a gift and Dan was not afraid to tell everyone he met (if you watched the link of the videos I posted...you get a sense of just how strong Dan's faith was).
But at this point in time...I must tell you all that Dan has been called home...yesterday at ~7:30pm Dan was called to be with our Father and is no longer suffering or fighting. It is a very sad day that a very close friend of mine is no longer here with us...but I know Dan truly is in a much better place where his mortal pain is no longer felt.
At this time Dan's wife Carrie is planning a viewing on Sunday and a funeral on Monday...sadly for me I will be flying out of town on Sunday and I cannot change my flight plans very easily...I have work commitments that I must fulfill...I spoke with Carrie a little while ago and told her how sorry I was I would not be able to attend any of the services...Thankfully Tracey can attend the viewing.
I wanted to thank all of you for your incredible outpouring of support and prayers for our brother in Christ while he made such an incredible fight against this demon from within his body...in the end...once the other items wore him down and his mind was "out of the game"...the body simply gave up too...the end was very quick as Dan went into the hospital last week and was fairly strong at that time...but the last 7 days really beat him down...but like I said...I know he is at peace now and with our Father without pain that he has felt for the last 3 years.
Again...I just wanted to share with all of you the sad earthly end to our prayer mission...but the new beginning to Dan's rebirth in His beautiful Kingdom.
Take care my brothers and sisters...May God Bless Dan, Carrie, Nikki, Danielle and Sarah
Joe.
