Thank you for sharing Dan's journey with us all. I'm sorry that this has happened and I know his family will miss him dearly! Hearing Dan's story has really challenged me to not take for granted each day that I can wake up and be healthy and live another day. It's so easy to take for granted and just assume that I'll live to be old and be able to watch my 5 kids grow up to be adults. I will continue to pray for Dan's wife and kids that they will be comforted and blessed during this time of loss. Thanks for bringing us into Dan's life as I have been blessed by this mans struggles and experience and the strength he found through Christ!
Sorry about your loss Joe. I'll be praying for the family.
Dan was blessed to have such a wonderful friend like you Joe; you helped get the word out and because of this, Dan acquired many many prayers and a huge extension to his lease on life.
Stewart...you know it...Dan sure got it...he completely understood the odds he was facing and he LIVED HIS LIFE following the diagnosis...
He was also a very vocal spokeperson for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness...I believe he was more of voice than Steve Jobs actually...Steve was very silent on his illness...Dan was a public person and spoke with as many people as he could to help raise awareness to this horrible silent killer...Dan sure got it...and I am honored to have known him...
I spoke with Carrie (Dan's wife) last night...she hadn't told their 5 year old daughter about Dan yet and was going to last night...she was struggling with how she would react...but I have to share with everyone what that little 5 year old said to Carrie when she was told about Dan...if this doesn't bring a smile to your face and make you realize just how strong Our Father's love for us all is...nothing will...not only did Dan get it...but his young daughter does too!
"happy that Daddy is all better and enjoying the times we have ahead of us, just like Daddy and Jesus would want us to. "
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving...When I spoke with Carrie...she told me how thankful she is for the 3 years she got with Dan following the diagnosis...and she absolutely knows that their daughter is thankful for that time too!
